2015 Postgraduate Award
Congratulations to Mr Joachim Paetzold from The University of Sydney for being awarded the 2015 Postgraduate Award. Mr Paetzold was awarded the prize for the presentation of his PhD research on “Wind effects on parabolic trough collectors at different positions in the solar field“ at the 17th AWES Workshop in Wellington in February. The AWES congratulates Mr Paetzold on his achievement and wishes him the best of luck for his continued research.
2014 AWES Undergraduate Prize
The AWES would like to congratulate Mr Blake Peoples from James Cook University for being awarded the AWES Undergraduate Thesis Prize for 2014. Mr Peoples’ submission, “Wind loads on course ore stockpile covers” was selected by a committee of academic and practicing wind engineers, and narrowly beat out a number of other very high quality submissions. The winning submission can be viewed here.
